PS3 will have online service that goes beyond xbox live PS3 will be a DVR It will connect with psp There are alot of games being worked on for it right now in the US (alot more then what people know about) The final ps3 dev kit is alot faster than they thought (according to the developer) The ps3 will have an itunes type service to let you download HI DEF movies, music, etc The Ps3 will take the media center functionality the 360 has even further PS3 will serve as a location free player for the psp, means you can watch the dvd's that you have in your psp on your psp (from anywhere in the world), or any other video files you have on your ps3, though this is still only being planned. PSP will be able to send its files straight to the psp from anywhere in the world, and it can also control its DVR functionalities Firmware updates will add more functionality, much like with the psp The Blu Ray Player functionality doesnt cost as much as a stand alone player because the Cell and RSX can take care of alot of the stuff the ps3 will need to do to be able to read the disks Fall release date for ps3, no release date for online service, but expected to launch w/ the system
lingooi: PS3 will have online service that goes beyond xbox live
That's a funny thing to say. PS3 has an online service which is far behind xbox live. Perhaps it will get better, but I'm pretty sure xbox live will also get better (why would anyone think it's not going to be improved just like everything else?)
PS3 will be a DVR
That's not important until they get TiVo type of service. Besides, it's a game console...
It will connect with psp
Yeah, this may be cool if they have some useful things you can do with it...
There are alot of games being worked on for it right now in the US (alot more then what people know about) The final ps3 dev kit is alot faster than they thought (according to the developer)
I'm a game developer and I must say it's slower than people expected. It's about as fast as Xbox 360, for any practical use, but much more work to program for. The graphics chip is actually not even as good. Well, that's just my personal opinion, but for a console that ships one year later, it should have been much faster and better (similar to xbox, which was technically superior to PS2).
The ps3 will have an itunes type service to let you download HI DEF movies, music, etc The Ps3 will take the media center functionality the 360 has even further
We shall see...
PS3 will serve as a location free player for the psp, means you can watch the dvd's that you have in your psp on your psp (from anywhere in the world), or any other video files you have on your ps3, though this is still only being planned.
I believe MS has similar plans with Zune and Xbox 360.
PSP will be able to send its files straight to the psp from anywhere in the world, and it can also control its DVR functionalities
Not sure what that means?
Firmware updates will add more functionality, much like with the psp
Yeah, as well as Xbox 360...
The Blu Ray Player functionality doesnt cost as much as a stand alone player because the Cell and RSX can take care of alot of the stuff the ps3 will need to do to be able to read the disks Fall release date for ps3, no release date for online service, but expected to launch w/ the system
Well, they're out now. The console costs a lot, much more than most people want to play for a movie player. The live service is not working well. Technically it's about as good as Xbox 360, but the software is not ready yet. Sony has a good track record as a console maker so I'm sure they can improve things and they still have a chance to win the console war, but it won't be easy for them this time... However, competition is good for consumers!
Jani, XBOX live is getting better and better, yesterday I saw the television and its shows that Xbox live is upgrading to be better than PS3, I'm surprise to see that...
But, PS3 got three types (Normal) (Heavy) (Special) Normal and Heavy is out, but don't forget, Special is not on the market yet! PS3 still got a chance to fight back. Normal: Normal Game Console, all of above except blu- ray Heavy: Nikki Game Console, all of above inculding blu- ray
Special: To be the best game console, it is upgrading to be the best.
Jani, Special is not nikki, and not sentinel too, it is NIKKI SENTINEL and don't know what it is but it will not come out so fast.
Xbox 360 is better than PS3 Normal but PS3 Heavy is better than XBOX 360 Xbox live is better than PS3 Heavy but don't know it will be better than PS3 Special Edition or not.
Formore information, please check out at us.playstation.com it will describe better than me, there are three version of Playstation now, Playstation, Playstation 2 and Playstation 3. Playstation (1) got one one version Playstation 2 got two version, which are Normal and Special Playstation 3 got three version, which are Normal, Heavy and Special.
Alex, you're crazy man... where do you get your facts? It's not even close to being right I'm afraid.
Check out the website you quoted (us.playstation.com):
"The PLAYSTATION3 is available in two configurations: 20GB hard disk drive (HDD) and 60GB HDD."
All models of PS3 have Blu-ray drive. What are Nikki and Sentinel that are you talking about?? I tried even Google, nobody mentions those. Can you show a website where you get this info...?
PS3 is out now, there's no special version coming. The difference between the two versions is the size of the hard disk, but for gaming they're on the same level...
